20 4WD Matchbox Cars You're Going to Want for Christmas
Published by Peter Harris on 17th Nov 2016
Here’s some harsh truth, you may not be able to get everything you want for Christmas this year. Like a Land Rover that looks like something, Indiana Jones would drive. Luckily, there’s always been Miniatures to bring out the motor-headed kids in all of us. Even our All Four x 4 Spares founder Mr. Peter Haylock is a keen collector of Land Rover Matchbox cars
Here are 20 Matchbox 4WDs you’ll want in your Santa sack this year.
1. This Swamp Tours Land Rover Defender 110 actually looks like a tourist 4WD you’d find up near Darwin and it crosses crocodile-infested rivers
2. Matchbox makes a Ford F-150 for just about everything and firetrucks are no exception.
3. It just wouldn’t be Matchbox without monster trucks and the other diecasts wouldn’t want to mess with this Chevy K1500 4X4 SUV.
4. A Hummer H2 is a little over the top for simple off-roading, but it’s handy if you ever need to crush your smaller Matchbox cars.
5. The 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 is an American icon.
6. The pristine whiteness of this Schuco Land Rover Defender wouldn’t last 10 seconds in the Australian outback.
7. The colour of this Land Rover Defender 110 is not just red, it’s called Century Dragon Red.
8. A fully kitted-out Land Rover like this just makes you want to be an archaeologist and learn how to use a whip.
9. This lime green Defender would be absolutely obnoxious in real life, but that’s why Matchbox cars exist!
10. Even though the Queen probably owns one of these 1948 Land Rovers, we still like it.
11. This is about the most slick Land Rover Defender in existence.
12. Who wouldn’t want a James Bond Range Rover Sport from Casino Royale?
13. I think at some point in our lives, we all wanted to cruise down to the beach in the Mitsubishi 4WD SUV Wagon.
14. This Toyota 4Runner couldn’t be more 80s if it tried.
15. No Matchbox collection is complete without a cop car and this Volkswagen Amarok Majorette will do nicely.
16. Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6, because sometimes 4 wheels just ain’t enough.
17. The 1972 Ford Bronco is obviously what pirates would drive if they didn’t have ships.
18. All army trucks are cool but this Land Rover Defender Figarti camouflage is something we wish we could actually fit in.
19. This Land Rover Defender Ambulance could traverse the dunes in a heartbeat.
20. Finally, this superfast no.2 Jeep Hot Rod in pink and white, because why not?
